Money Money Money Money (Mon-ey!)

“What money does is magnify you… Money gives you a chance if you’re a slob to be a big slob—a huge slob.  On the other hand, if you’re inclined toward doing good things, it gives you the power to do a great many great things.”

My BEST Valentine

Happy Valentine’s Day to all!  I hope you’ve celebrated this holiday with loved ones near, or far.  For me, it was fun to invite a friend I’ve known since college over for lunch.  I love cooking for someone else, and in addition to serving my Borscht (red beet soup is very Valentine-ish!), I had made a chocolate cheesecake with coconut crust and raspberry topping.

We ate heartily and talked about everything under the sun—which, following a rainy spell, broke through the gray, bright as Heaven’s veranda.  As we visited, I realized the value of having an “old” friend who’s known me in good times and deplorable; seasons when I was most unlovable…and today, finally showing signs of improvement 🙂

People say true love “takes the bad with the good”, and doesn’t give up on the beloved.  That describes my Best Valentine:  Almighty God, The Lord Jesus, King of my heart.  Certainly His love for me has been unconditional, patient, merciful, and most gentle.  He’s not shocked by the worst in mankind, and He knew what He was in for when He chose me long ago.  I now understand that He saw my potential to grow into someone He could be proud of…not a saint, but someone I wouldn’t despise anymore.  His love is powerful, it can overcome a lot of what’s wrong in a person.  That’s why I have HOPE, why He is my Best Valentine.

People who love us will sometimes disappoint us, may even leave us stranded; but God will never leave nor forsake those who belong to Him.  If you’re searching for someone who will love you everlastingly (not Hollywood-style, but heroic in the real world) when you’re exhausted from trying to be perfect, or in an unimaginable mess, I invite you to call on Jesus.  He responds to merest whisper.  His heart is always open, and BIG enough that He can be “Valentine” to the whole world.

May you experience the abundant, miraculous blessings of His great love for you today♥  Sandal Teaberry

John 3:16-17 Amplified Bible (AMP)

16 “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] [a]only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him.

I watch Pastor Jimmy Evans on DayStar TV, and this message is so powerful I had to share it with whoever needs encouragement today (besides me).  God bless you.

Respect Your True Value

A lady with ‘not much’ to offer—

No youthful fair form, gold in coffer—

Wise, resisted insistence on paltry romance

With popular swain late arrived at grand dance

Who, vapid and vain, heartless mocked her

I didn’t know where this prompt was going when I began writing in the wee hours, but it turned into a ‘mini-sermon’ from wisdom I learned painfully.  Since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, “love” is in the air—and sometimes we can feel too desperate for it.  At 65, may I tell you something?

If you settle for second-best just so you won’t be alone, you’ve signed on for less than you deserve.  God highly values you, wants the very best for you…and life is a long hard haul when we settle for “less”.  Guard your heart, pray for His guidance in love and all things…and He will bless you.
